You sort through all of the ideas, the ones that best describe you, your family and farm. The name that will draw in curiosity and awe. Living frugally has been our main focus for years because I am a stay at home mom while Chris is the bread winner for our family. It wasn't until we discussed raising hogs that I figured out our farm name. As a child, we had figs galore so after we moved up the hill from our previous residence, I wanted to plant several figs throughout the property. Our intentions are to harvest figs each year to feed to our hogs when we feed them out for butchering. Hence, the name Frugal Fig Farm.
Then one day on our farm page, another farm page was offering a free logo design competition. She only had a few to enter and graciously decided to design a logo for several of us. I knew what I wanted but couldn't get it done. I explained it to her and she was able to do ours quickly. I love how well she designed it to portray our farm so well.

When taking her outside, we must be very careful to watch her to make sure no other animals harm her. We say she is a she but won't know for sure for a few more years. Hopefully she is a female because we would like to adopt another female to keep her company. I've seen many tortoises being bred and sold, people thinking their cute but then when they get bigger, have to rehome them because they can't provide the space needed for a tortoise. Our intentions for them will be for educational purposes only. We love our Stella girl!

As a child, I had always wanted a chinchilla. I thought they were jaut the coolest pet to ever have and as an adult, my childhood beliefs are true. Shadow is my favorite out of all of our animals. He doesn't like to be held but loves chin scratches and petting. He's nocturnal but happily wakes up when you open his cage and will come to the door for loving and special treats. We've had him for a few years and he's always everyone's favorite when we have guests come to the house. Shadow's favorite treat is apple sticks. It's a process to get the sticks prepped for him but so worth it to see him munching away on them.
